Hi, I have had this numerous times with the fitbit app - I use a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, I go out for a 4 mile walk. Get home and click pause to show the finish flag but it doesn't work. No matter what I try the finish flag doesn't appear. I turn off GPS, try to clear the app from my app list, turn off all other apps but still I can't get the fitbit app to know that I have stopped the app. Suddenly after perhaps 5 minutes it just appears and I can hold on the finish button and it records my workout. But each time it does this it also record a duplicate workout on my dashboard when I login to my account later that day on my laptop. Any ideas? Is it just my phone perhaps?

Hi @Alan1979
Moved this thread from the Charge HR to the Android section since being more relevant to the topic & increases the chance of getting a solution.
Wishing a wonderful day

I have the same issue with my HR, or should say the fitbit app on my Samsung Andriod. I have discovered why the pause / Finish will not work is due to it's still syncing the GPS information to the mapping. I have no idea why 'I' must wait for GPS to sync to map when I'm already done with my walk.
I have tried it with GPS on and in Airplain mode also but truth is I can't recall if helped as good % of the time it's GPS map current or very close / short wait to Pause / Finish (been going to quite a few new parks and like to know where I'm on on the map).
What I have been doing is turning off my GPS on my phone and wait from 20 - 45 min depending how far behind it is to get to where I turned off the GPS then I'm able to hit pause / Finish but my workout time is really killed from this. I had this just last night took about 30 min to finaly let me pause / finish.... left hike locations whent to dinner and about the time done with dinner finally let me end the work out!!! 😞
Would be really great to find out if they have a fix for this comming or a work around.

How is it goin' @Mark_HR? Thank you very much for your reply 🙂 In this case I would recommend to uninstall and reinstall the app. Also, I would like you to try setting up your Fitbit as a new device as recommended by our friend @MarcelBK.
Please let me know if this works 🙂 In the meantime I wish you a wonderful day!
