The new Fitbit compatible phone devices help page seems to lift restrictions by phone model.

"The Fitbit app is compatible with most popular phones and tablets. To set up and use your Fitbit products and services, you must install the Fitbit app on a compatible device running one of the following operating systems:

  • Apple iOS 12.2 or higher
  • Android OS 7.0 or higher
  • See additional tips for Android phones and tablets.

Despite meeting the above requirements, the following devices often exhibit compatibility issues that cause our products and services to not operate properly:

  • Huawei P8 Lite
  • Huawei P9 Lite
  • Xiaomi Mi 6
  • Huawei P20 Lite"

The 4 listed devices are incompatible. Once upon a time Fitbit had a long lis of compatible phones. they seem to have done away with that and now are basically saying if your phone is running Android 7.0 or later or iOS 12.2 or later you are good with the exception of the 4 phones listed.

here is something a moderator posted about phones being compatible:

"Please note that your phone or tablet is not on our list of compatible devices. We confirmed that the devices on this list are fully compatible with all features of Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app. While a phone or tablet may not be verified as fully compatible, the Fitbit app may still work with your device.

We routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models. Be sure to verify that your phone or tablet meets the minimum operating system requirements.

If your phone supports Bluetooth 4.0, we provide assistance and troubleshooting steps. Because your phone or tablet is not fully compatible with Fitbit devices, we can't guarantee syncing and other Fitbit features. "

@Odyssey13   Did you open your list of compatible devices. Only 4 phones are mentioned?

@Guy_  @SPGmd    There was a Help article that listed all the fully compatible phones by brand.  It seems to be gone.  The "once upon a time" long list used to have over 200 phones on it.  It got dramatically shorter when the iOS 12.2/Android OS 7.0 requirement came along.  I looked at that page two days ago.   @Guy_ -- Your page has been up for a while now.

Isn't it nice to see that Fitbit has listened to what people were asking and have rationalized the situation into a sensible outcome, which is better and easier for everyone.

Well Done Fitbit.

Thanks

@Guy_  I saw the list had been changed, but as the moderator said - it's really is meeting the minimum requirements of the phone.

@Odyssey13 I also can't find the list of compatible phones in the help doc. Yes this list seemed to be updated more frequently then the provided link above.
