Bike speed discrepancy on training summary

On the Android app, my bike speed shows differently on the dashboard than it does on the activity details. See the following screenshots. The summary shows a speed of 6.8 mph, while the details show a speed of 10.9 mph. It's frustrating that I have to open up the details to see the accurate speed.

10.9km is 6.8mi. For some reason, the speed on the second screenshot is treated as kmh (but says mph). However, the 10.9mph matches the distance of 9.83mi. My conclusion is that the details are correct while the summary screen converts... well... miles into miles as if 10.9 was in km. I have never seen such error because I use km as my unit.

@Andielyn Welcome to the forums. I will gladly help you with the training summary on the Fitbit app.

Thanks for the screenshots and the explanation. I do not go out biking, but I will give it a try with and let you know if the same thing happens to me. Please make sure that the Fitbit app is up to date.

Have a nice day!

Hah! Good catch! That's bizarre though.

@RodrigoMFitbit it's a bug, easy to reproduce:

1) use miles as distance unit

2) ride a bike

My today's ride:

Summary shows 8.1mph (wrong)Summary shows 8.1mph (wrong)

Detail view:

Detail view - 13.1mph (correct)Detail view - 13.1mph (correct)

13.1km/h is 8.1mp/h. So apparently, the summary view tries to convert actual speed (which already is in miles) into miles as if it was in km/h.

@Andielyn knowing Fitbit's bug fixing history I wouldn't hold my breath that this will be fixed anytime soon (especially since this bug is quite low-severity).

Glad someone else was able to reproduce it. Such a bizarre big! Yep, won't hold my breath, very aware of Fitbit's lack of attention to bugs.

Check out the other replies about miles to km bug. Definitely a bug.

I also see this. You'll notice the speed for your average mph is well above what the graph shows your speed to be most of the time, on the app. You can also open your bike ride in the browser version of Fitbit from your dashboard, and you'll see very different numbers for your speed range. I captured these this morning (same ride):

Thanks for that. The discrepancies kill me, both this specific example and across the Fitbit platform in general. For example, how a walk is displayed is different on the app if it was auto-detected, added afterwards, or started from the Fitbit, and again from the web browser. Really, Fitbit? It's like no one on their developer teams talk to each other.
