To the developers of the Android app: why is the number of calories remaining so wildly different between the dashboard and the Food pages?

@SunsetRunner Nice to see you again in the forums. Thanks for the screenshots and the explanation. I recommend that you read the following entry in the Fitbit blog: Ask Fitbit: Why Does My Calorie Allowance Change Throughout the Day?

The food tile on the dashboard a.k.a. "Today" shows actually the calories you still have left in your daily consumption. However, you must have set up a food plan which asked you if you wanted to lose weight, etc. This food plan does have impact on your budget. Your budget is determined with your goal. If your goal is to lose weight, the budget will be narrower. That means, that you wish to get a greater calorie deficit at the end of the day. The calorie budget is related to the food plan and the deficit. This is only shown when you tap on the food tile and check all info on the food pages.

The food tile on "Today" will only show the amount of calories you can still consume regarding your overall daily consumption, not taking the budget into account. I understand it can be confusing. If you wish to see more detailed info regarding your calorie intake, you should always tap on the food tile for more details.

Have a nice day!
