Normally my goal is 8,000 steps a day.I make it thru various ways And my caloric burn is listed as around 2000. So today I walked outside, did a walking work out video, moved furniture and got to 12,000steps. But despite busting my **ahem** today the caloric burn is only 1900?

Good to see you here in the Fitbit Community @ccbarr. With calories note that not only steps count for this, but also is connected to other of your stats like Active Minutes and the intensity of your activities.

If you activity were slightly moderate and was not intense as other days despite you have more steps, your calories will fluctuate. A good indication of this is to focus on your active minutes; which is the time you are more active maintaining a high intensity pace. While you have more Active minutes you will earn more calories.

How do you obtain more active minutes?  Keeping your steps in a constant and high pace during complete periods of times, better if the duration is above 10 minutes.

In this case I also recommend to review your step graphs from the online-Dashboard to see how intense was the period of steps. If you see your bars go orange or green is because your activity was intense and by consequence you'll burn more calories.

Hope this advice helps. If you have additional questions, just let me know.
