Calories burned upon waking up

I put on my fitbit before I leave the house to go to work and it shows I already have calories burned..
I read an answer from someone saying that even if you're sleeping you still burn calories which I already knew that, but I am not even wearing the device to sleep.. I take it off at night. So where are these calories coming from? I know it's probably an automatic guess/estimate as per my previous info recorded on the watch, but is there a way to reset this information???
It throws me off a bit and I don't like that it shows calories burned and I haven't even moved yet..
so is there a way to reset the calories for ZERO so it kind of syncs with my step count and daily activities???? Instead of having 539 calories burned and 0 spteps??

Your BMR calories (those you burn keeping your body alive) are calculated from your profile settings for age, height, weight etc so you don't have to be wearing your fitbit to get them. They get reset to zero at midnight along with your other stats and I'm afraid you can't reset them in the morning.
