When I click on "weight" from the dashboard, under goal progress it says I've lost 19.7 pounds since April 2nd, but I got my fitbit on July 9th. Is there any way I can change my start date so that it is correct?

It doesn’t work for me. I am trying to change the date to July 2014 because I have lost a lot of weight since then and I want it to show on my Fitbit but for some reason I am unable to change the date.

Same here. It wouldn’t let me change my starts date on the app. I had to go to the actual website and go to my dashboard to do it.
Best Regards,

Hello @Schoen5310, @JPurkey88 and @Rails, welcome to the Community Forums! It's a pleasure for me to assist you with this situation.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for trying some troubleshooting steps before posting, I understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to troubleshoot the Fitbit app following the next steps:
If the issue persists, please let me know which Android mobile devices are you using, when was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times the date was reverted.
Let me know if you have any additional questions, I'll be around.

how does uninstalling and reinstalling correct the weight loss start date? I tried to update on website and it won't let me either.

I followed these instructions but the date doesn't change. It stays stuck on July 9th for some reason.

I have a Mac and iPhone 11. When I use my iPhone app I open
my account
settings
activity & wellness
nutrition weight
Start date
at start date there is a date rotary that spins to change the start date. I hope that works for you. Happy safe holidays.

I have found the only want to force it is by manually setting your phone date back to the date that you want your start date to be in Fitbit. So say today is January 15th 2021. I set my phone's date back in time to September 5th 2020. Went back into Fitbit to force the current September 5th as my new start date. Make sure it saves and load the page a few extra times to make it save and sinc properly before switching your phones date back to the current today's date January 15th. You will keep getting popups that your phone doesn't recognize that date or something, but just dismiss it till you finish what you are trying to accomplish. Then Switch the date back to it's original current date as I said. This is what works for me. Because I have also tried every single other way to change the start date and it always would just automatically reset to some random date Fitbit wants and not what I want, and nothing works quite like this method. Hope this helps.

The rotary on date after steps
Activity and wellnesx
nutrition and weight
start date
opens to change date on my iPhone 11 max
i gave my first charge 3 to my niece and deleted the app in 2018/19 Then bought a new charge 4 in nov 2020. Resigned into app account with prior info. All my data returned. I don’t know why glitches occur on other peoples accounts. I know that’s not helpful but if I couldn’t get my account to work efficiently, I would call Fitbit help. I’d also open a new account with a different user name and start fresh with entering start date and weight.
Good luck to those trying to work out the gliches.

I just love how this has been a problem since 2016 and absolutely nobody from FitBit cares! This is a very big deal. If more people knew about this problem it might make them select a different product. To lose all of your progress, without warning? Are you kidding me??
Somebody said you can do it from the web app but I can't follow their steps as apparently the web app has changed. It's just a crazy stupid bug of not being able to update the database that nobody's bothered to fix.

OK Guys, the only thing that worked (will it stick? I still don't know) is that I was logged into the web AND on the iPhone app at the same time. That may have done it. I've still lost the data that was updated without warning while I was trying to change it.
I have no way that I can find to set the start date on the web app- only on the phone (Windows 10 + charge 3 + iPhone 11 here). So I logged in, looked around for the settings others talked about but couldn't find them (notably the activity and wellness on the web app). So while I was logged in I gave one last try on the app and was able to re-set my starting date.
What a total pain in the butt. I spent over an hour on this problem. I feel like I should send somebody an invoice for my time!
