When I click on "weight" from the dashboard, under goal progress it says I've lost 19.7 pounds since April 2nd, but I got my fitbit on July 9th. Is there any way I can change my start date so that it is correct?

Thank you! This worked - re entering the start weight as well as the start date, thanks for posting 🙂

Nothing seems to work for me. It looks to, but then you go back in and it’s back at today’s date. Sooo frustrating. Why hasn’t this been fixed yet??

There are probably easier ways, but the only way I've found to change the weight loss start date (& have it remain as such) is on the www.fitbit.comsite. Go to dashboard, hover over the food tile (the one with the plate, fork, knife) and select "See More". Go to the "food plan" tile and select the arrow to the right of that tile and scroll through until you see "Plan Summary". Select "Edit Plan". Find the line that says "Your starting weight was x lbs and was set on Mon Date, Year". Select the edit link located adjacent to that line. Enter the date you want to reflect your start date. Be sure that date has a weight logged (or enter your starting weight). Click save. You may need to log out / in and synch your phone app with your Fitbit device. The unfortunate thing is that you may have to search for each step listed here. I didn't find it very intuitive but if you follow these very specific steps (exactly), it works. Hope this helps.

No, those options just aren’t there. There no side arrow. My fork and knife don’t have a plate. Many of the things in this post dont mirror up exactly. I’ll keep digging for a solution.

Tristanarielle I’ve found the answer!
The solution is not in the dashboard after all. It’s in log. Try this link and scroll to the bottom and follow the images. Shout up if you have any issues. I recognised my knife and fork didn’t have a plate and that’s because the solution wasn’t on the dashboard. When you go to the log your knife and fork gains a plate and it all starts to make sense.

Go to your account, then click on nutrition and body and scroll down and you should be able to change your start date. Good luck!

I have found that the start can be changed from the app on your phone. Go to your account, then nutrition and body, then scroll to see start date and you should be able to change it. Good luck.

Gah, I was so hopeful this would work, but no dice yet again. I can make the updates and click save but it just does not want to budge the start date. So incredibly frustrating. Thanks for the advice - hopefully it works for others!

I’ve done this on chrome and safari on my Mac and on my phone... still re sets to this month when I’m trying to have it start six months ago. I changed the start weight and the date at the same time still nothing. I’ve tried everything and it still resets the date as if I never changed it. Fitbit needs to fix this I’ve spent way too long on a small detail that bothers me..

Hi.
the solution is not in the dashboard, it’s in the log. See my note above. It drove me nuts too!!

Thanks for the response! That’s actually what I did, and it still went back to the original date.. not sure why.

This won’t work on the app, keeps going back to the date I set my goal but want it to go further back than that. Any suggestions?
