Would my Fitbit be ruined if I wear it under my turnout gear at a structure fire? I would love to know how many calories we burn at a fire.

@FiremanKen Thanks for joining the Fitbit family! This is a very interesting question. The operating temperature from the Charge HR is -4° to 113° F. It will depend on the temperature of the fire itself!
Hope this helps. Keep me posted!

Well, at a residential structure fire last night, while not on the nozzle, but humping hose ( no that isn't something dirty lol) it looks like I burned close to 3,000 calories. I took off my Fitbit and left it in the pumper for overhaul, because that is when we get soaked pretty good. So at least about 3,000.

@FiremanKen Thanks for your reply! Interesting information! So, the Charge HR did withstood the fire! That is awesome. You did burned a lot of calories while humping hose haha!
Thanks for sharing your experience when fighting the fire and the amount of calories you burn. I'm sure other firefighting Fitbit users will find this very helpful!
