Can not log a previous cycle ride

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

When entering a previous activity, the fit bit notification informs me ur has stopped working.

Also, why does it not recognise cycling even when ," auto recognise" is turned on?

Hello @MrsWB, good to see again in the Fitbit Community. How are you logging the exercise? Are you using any feature in particular like MobileRun or is it manual activity?

In the meantime if the issue is related to the app the following post, I will suggest to follow these steps mentioned on this post. (the steps were suggested for a different issue, although it will help to address the issue you have mentioned.

It will depend which type of cycling are you doing, note that if your tracker has SmartTrack, it will detect when you do outdoor biking. So if your exercise is not being recognized and the feature is turned On, try with a restart. I saw on your Community profile that you have a Flex 2, so these steps will guide you through:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or a UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Remove the pebble from the wristband and press it into the compartment on the charging cable. The pins on the charging cable must align with the corresponding pins on the back of the pebble to lock securely in place.

You’ll know the connection is secure when the pebble vibrates and you see the indicator lights blinking.

  3. Find the button on the charging cable below the tracker compartment.
  4. Press it three times within five seconds. The tracker vibrates each time you press the button. A few seconds after the third press, all the lights will flash simultaneously. This means the pebble has restarted. If you miss the light flash but notice the pebble has resumed charging, that too is confirmation that the restart was successful.
  5. Remove the pebble from the charging cable and insert it back into the wristband.

Hope this helps and don't forget to keep me posted how it goes.

Hi, thanks for the advice but it hasn't solved the problem.

My cycling is on the road. I try to log the exercise but it will not accept when I enter the distance covered.

Hello @MrsWB, about the feature of automatically tracking your exercise, perhaps the motion pattern is too smooth for your tracker translate the information as outdoor biking.

Even when your tracker is able to read automatically your cycling exercise, it won't give you distance. Note that your tracker is not detecting an activity base on steps and there is no GPS to track your course, hence your tracker doesn't have information to know your distance.

The best option here is to manually log this activity, although you are right about the app won't let you to enter distance if you use cycling. Try to use the activity option "Bike" and you will be able to manually enter your distance.

Hi
This is a screenshot of the message I receive when trying to add a mileage.
Have tried to do this on "" Log previous"" Outdoor bike.
Getting quite frustrated with it !!!!!!
Does anyone else have the same problem?

I was having the same issue manually adding an Outdoor Bike activity, the app would crash when entering the distance. Used the Bike activity as suggested and I was able to add the activity without the app crashing.
