Can't add friends in Fitbit app

My mom received a fitbit for Christmas. She had sent me a friend request around the Christmas holidays that never showed up. Today, I sent a friend request to her. she accepted it, but on my end it is still showing as waiting for her reply. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, which didn't work. I tried adding her by entering her email address, and I got an error saying that she's already my friend! She is not in my inactive friends or in the "opted out of rankings" friends. My sister has her added and can see both me and my mom on her friends list just fine, and we can both see my sister on our friends list. Please help!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know which Android mobile device are you using? When was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then? In the meantime I receive your answers, please try the following steps and let me know if the issue persists:

 

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Uninstall the app from your mobile device.
  3. Make sure that the Android version is up to date.
  4. Reboot your mobile device.
  5. Reinstall the Fitbit app.
  6. Login using your account credentials.
