This can be if you have an older phone because they recently thought it a good idea to remove the Fitbit App for phones older that Android version 8.

Hi there, @Thiru. Welcome to the Community Forums.

As @Guy_ has mentioned, if your mobile phone doesn't meet the requirements listed here, you won't be able to download the Fitbit app.

I've moved your post to the Android App board for organization purposes.

Thanks for your understanding. Have a good day!

@Thiru and @Guy_ and fitbit didn't even have the decency to give users advance warning of this action. I'm still using a charge 2 which doesn't really need stuff that is probably available via the new app.

Thanking us for our understanding of this move is really taking the proverbial. No I don't understand why they think it's OK to just dump this on their unsuspecting customers.

Hi @Lilbiddy  - you are right. It would seem a very poor move from Fitbit which hopefully they will reconsider.

If people in desperation download old Fitbit App  versions from other sites, Fitbit may end up with users having software installed that could potentially corrupt the Fitbit servers and cause all sorts of problems for them and all users, and not just the people forced to do that.

It could severely reduce the integrity, security and reliability of the whole Fitbit accounts system.

Hello @MarreFitbit can you please clarify why your reply doesn't match this that looks more logical and respectful of the users who paid for Fitbit products?

Could you please share why Fitbit didn't have the integrity to notify the user community they were removing support for Android 7 users?  That would not have corrupted their server environments.  They notified me anytime they wanted to sell something.

MarreFitbit,

Why didn't Fitbit notify their user community they were removing the Android 7 support and apps?  They notified me when they were sell new products but it would have been throwing away money without a newer phone.  Fitbit is not very supportive of their wide ranging user community.  It wastes a lot of time when the device stops working and each impacted user has to research the problem only to find out this was a Fitbit planned change.
