Can't set up Fitbit Alta with Samsung Galaxy S3

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have Googled until my eyes crossed. I have restarted, reinstalled, and reset the app, the bluetooth, location services, the Alta, etc.  Initially I was stuck in a setup loop on my phone, but now when I try to add device in the Fitbit app, I get a message to update the app, but there are no updates to do. I can't even set it up via my PC, because the Alta isn't on the list of trackers for me to select. I'm so frustrated with this I'm about to return it to the store.

Hi there @ellymae58, welcome aboard to our Fitbit Community. Thank you for letting me know the steps you have tried so far to resolved this issue.

Maybe we can try one more time some of the steps you mentioned before:

  1. Turn your tracker off and back on using the instructions from this post.
  2. Try the setup process again following this video.
  3. If you can't set up after a restart, reboot your mobile device (turn it off and then back on).
  4. Try setting up your tracker again.
  5. If you can't set up after the reboot, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app.

Regarding your computer, what OS is running your computer, is it Mac or Windows? If it is windows, are you using the Windows 10 app or the Fitbit Connect Software?

Let me know this details, perhaps we can set up your Alta using your computer, instead of your mobile device. See you around.
