I am 72 and am not a dummy however the directions I got with my watch don't help me set up the pairing of my versa and my Amazon Fire. HELP! I need step by step directions. I really hope that for Christmas I can get some help.

I did a search of the forums and even Fitbit Moderators (employees of the company) have posted that the Amazon Fire is not compatible.You can see the list of compatible devices here - click to view.

Hello and welcome to the forums @Mia2019 . Amazon Fire isn't a compatible device for the Fitbit to use. While it might work with some features, it's not on the list as one that is compatible.
