Why am I unable to delete old challenges for the fitbit dashboard!!

Why?  Who knows?  That's just the way it is.  They will go away by themselves in several days.  The best you can do is edit the 'Today' page to move them to the bottom of the screen.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
