Challenges don't refresh when opened via notification

I get a notification that someone in a challenge has said or accomplished something... But when I click on the notification, the challenge opens but does not update to show that accomplishment or comment, so I have to back up a page and then reopen the challenge

Came here to post this. Got my Surge a couple of days ago. I love the hardware, but the app has a serious issue with the chat feature. The chat messages/notifications [person-to-person and shared challenges] do not refresh, even if you click on the notification. I either have to scroll right to the top and keep pulling the screen down [this doesn't always work], or type in a message to attempt a refresh.

 

The progress of the other people in the Challenge is never up-to-date either. Different people are seeing different results, which is very frustrating.

 

Xperia Z2 running Android 5.1.1
