Changing the default stride on charge HR

How can I not have my hand movements register as steps. While I am working at my desk it will add 100s of steps at a time. I would like to get an accurate count each day. Other taking it on and off all day is there something that a can do.

This is not something we can avoid altogether - it's an issue with all wrist-worn trackers. However, there's a section of the following linked help article that explains how we can minimise the problem:
