Charge 2 running distance is way out

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have the charge 2 but wondered how or if I can calibrate the run setting.  When I run onow the treadmill and set it to run the accuracy is way out. After a mile on the treadmill my charge 2 only logs 0.59 mile. Therefore after a 4 mile run my charge 2 only records just over 2 miles.  I don't expect it to be 100% but at present the it's way out. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Piddie, Let me tell you its nice to have you here in our Fitbit Community. Note that your tracker wont necessarily match the distance of the treadmill. This is because  your trackers will read the distance by multiplying your walking / running steps by your stride length. Which if you have not set custom measurements it will be by default based on your demographic information.

But you can improve this setting by entering your custom measurement for stride length:

  1. Go to a track or some place where you're sure of the distance.
  2. Count your steps as you walk across that distance, making sure you travel at least 20 steps.
  3. Divide the total distance (in feet) taken by the number of steps to get your stride length.

Your running stride can be calculated the same way if you run instead of walk.

Once you have this information, go to your Fitbit app under the Account tab > Scroll down to Advanced Settings > Scroll down again to the bottom and enter to the option stride length. If the option of Automatic is On, just toggle off and enter your data. Make sure to sync at the end so this changes are applied to your tracker.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.
