A few days ago, I updated the firmware on my Charge2 and now it won't keep it's charge. I have to charge it twice a day and it's getting worse. It drains completely overnight. I charged it this morning, and just had to recharge it an hour ago.
To minimize battery use, I have turned the notifications off.
I have kept real-time data, but I am suspicious that this may be causing some drainage.
However, I do know from performing a little bitt of google-foo, that firmware upgrades have been buggy in the past and have led to battery drainage issues, particularly for Android users.
I have not seen any current postings related to this issue, but I am hoping other people may have an answer to this major device bug.
Firmware version: 22.22.55.2

Welcome to the Forums @MsMacParr.
Thanks for bringing all of those details up and listing what you have tried to improve the battery.
I will be moving this thread to the Charge 2 board as I think it is better suited for it.
Our support team will be getting in touch with you via email so please keep an eye on your email's inbox, spam and trash folders. They will be more than happy to help you find out what is happening and a solution.
I look forward to your reply.

Same thing is happening to me on my Alta HR. Updated now won't hold a charge for even a full day. I only had to charge once a week before the update. Coincidence? I think not.....

Keep vigilant. In my case, it continued to accelerate drainage to the point that it wouldn't hold a charge for more than a few hours. Last night, it completely died. I attempted to charge it and it got extremely hot. It wouldn't charge. It is no longer working at all.
I have been in touch with customer support, I am returning the device along with the charger, for investigation.
I do think there is an issue with the firmware upgrade.
I am lost without my tracker though. Pretty bummed actually.

I just updated my charge 2 last week and it has been useless since, due to the battery draining in 2 hours or less since the update. My fitbit was working fine until they pushed an update to me and now that I updated it, it is useless. So far the Fitbit company only suggested solution was for me to buy another one? Seems like a scam, they send an update that ruins the fitbit and they want you to buy a new one! I have since read a forum entry saying that the fitbit updates were notorious for causing problems and not to update unless your fitbit is no longer syncing. I wish I had seen this forum post before trusting Fitbit and going ahead with the update they sent me. Unless they repair or replace my fitbit they have lost a customer.
