I have a Samsung S7 edge and my phone and text messages are not allerting my Fitbit. The notifications is switched on, I have synced,I have turned Bluetooth on and off, I have re paired the devices and still nothing. It used to work and then just suddenly stopped. I have tried all the Fitbit help and troubleshooting. Can anyone help?  Many thanks.

It didn't work for me, mine has never worked. I have Nexus 5X, it is on the list of compatible phones. How do I re-pair?

A very warm welcome to the Community @Nannabug!

Since the steps mentioned didn't resolve the situation, let's try to re-establish the Bluetooth connection between your tracker and your mobile:

  1. Get into your Nexus' bluetooth settings.
  2. Look for your Fitbit and then remove the tracker from the paired devices list.
  3. Open the Fitbit app and then tap on the 'Account' tab.
  4. Select 'Setup a New Device' and then follow the steps to pair your Fitbit once again.
  5. Setup notifications once more.

That should get your Fitbit to start working correctly.

Please let me know how it goes.

Hi LanuzaFitbit. Thanks for the welcome and the assistance. I tried all
that you said but it still does not show phone calls or texts. Is it
possible that I have a defective unit? I bought it on March 21, do you
think I should take it back to the store I purchased it from and swap it?

Hey @Nannabug!

Since you purchased it very recently, I would definitely consider that as an option. It is better to be safe than sorry.

If you do go with the seller, please keep me updated on what happens.

Let me know how it goes!

Hi @HDTRISH, welcome to the Community! 🙂 Let me give you a hand on this. First of all, make sure that the notifications are set to "ON" on your tracker itself, if so, please restart your Charge 2, if after that, your Fitbit still not getting notifications, please take a look at the instructions for Android devices in this post.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

I have a Charge 2. And since my last fitbit update and Samsung update this week I am no longer receiving text/call notifications. I know about the mute button so it's not that. I uninstalled and reinstalled fit bit app and still no luck. I really count on this when at work. Can you please help?

Try removing the fitbit from you Bluetooth and then reinstalling. I found that after the update, somehow the text and calendar notifications had both been removed as options. This corrected the problem.

Hi Lanuza,  I took the Fitbit back to the store and swapped it for another Charge 2, same color and size.. This one does receive the phone and text notifications. Yay!!!!!! Thank you so much for your assistance.

I have a charge 2 and the S7, just bought it, I have looked for every option I can think of, it is not muted but I am no longer getting the vibrate alert on my fitbit from the phone that is next to me.

Bluetooth is on and paired, tests work but nothing for Calls or Whats app messages like I did on my old s5 any further ideas at all?

I have a different phone but discovered by accident that on my Charge 2 notifications can somehow get turned off. This might not be your problem but wouldn't hurt to check. When Charge 2 is on first screen, time/date/steps, if you press and [briefly] hold the button it shows Notifications On; but if you hold the button a too long it changes to Notifications Off. You may not even notice if you changed it but if you did you will not get notifications anymore. You may already have figured this out and it may not be your problem, but hopefully it might help someone.

Toggling this setting solved it for me.  They had been set "On", but the toggle did it.  All the other re-pairing options didn't seem to do anything.
