I brought a Fitbit charge 2, which worked with my old Samsung. But I bought a new Huawei Nova 3i and now it says connecting but wont connect. I read posts of people who have the same issues with Nova 2i, and most of them dates back to last year, and yet, Nova 2i isn't on the list of compatible devices yet.
It's such a shame since a fitbit is an expensive device, and that it takes more than a year for the techs at fitbit to solve the issue. And also I firmly believe that there should be a "complaint" button in the fitbit site, since thats where this belongs, not in a forum.
Deeply disappointed, won't recommend fitbit for anyone else. 😞

Welcome to the Forums @Devzz99
As you mentioned, The Nova 3i is not part of the supported devices list. This means that the app has not been fully optimized to work with that phone.
As long as it fulfills the minimum requirements, Android 4.4 and Bluetooth 4.0, there is a possibility that it can work but we cannot guarantee it. Some users of unsupported devices have mentioned that following these steps helps with the syncing.
If none of the above works, you could try to use a computer or another mobile device to try and sync your Fitbit to your account. Click here to get instructions on how to sync with other devices.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

I bought a Nova 3i a couple of months ago and was surprised to discover that I wasn’t receiving notifications for messages and calls on my Fitbit Versa. This was the main reason I bought a smart watch in the first place. The phone still synced, in the sense that I could view step/activity/sleep data, etc on my phone app, so that part was not a problem for me. Just that I wasn’t being notified on my Versa with any calls or messages.
Anyway, last night I stumbled across a solution to the notification problem (when I was trying to fix something else). It’s my limited understanding that Nova 3i has a great battery life because it reduces functionality of apps that it considers to be possible heavy battery users. So you could try the following:
Go to Settings, then Battery, then App Launch. You’ll see all your Apps switched to “Manage Automatically “. I clicked on Messenger, then hit OK (to manage manually). I did this for Whatsapp, Messenger, Contacts (for phone calls and texts) and also Fitbit for good measure. I am now receiving notifications on my Fitbit Versa without any problem.
It sounds a bit different to the problem you are having so this may not help you, but I hope it helps someone out there. It’s very simple to try anyway. Good luck!

Welcome to the Forums @Jolly-Jing.
Thank you very much for sharing all of those details on the matter and the steps that helped you get the notifications working.
I'm sure that other users will definitely find it useful. I will be sure to share the steps you mentioned with other users that might find themselves on a similar situation, if that is okay with you.
If you have the time, maybe you could visit one of our Discussion boards. Lots of different topics to talk about with other users. Perhaps something in there will pique your interest.
