Charge 4: How do I get firmware to update to latest firm ware versions from 48.20001.9629?

Hi everyone.

Question: Why is my Fitbit Charge 4 not seeming to update to the latest firmware version after downloading again from GooglePlayStore? still, shows version 1.96.29 (June 2020)? I updated it yesterday

Today I uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my Samsung galaxy s9 plus why is it still showing as 48.20001.9629?

I've also enabled the app to run in the background as far as I can tell on my phone...still showing as 48.20001.9629

Wasn't seeing HRV or sensor-based skin temperature data?

What do you recommend for getting my Fitbit app updated to the latest version?

A bit of confusion on terms, but I get the idea.

Fitbit app is what runs on phone.  If Android, turn on auto-updates, or keep checking Google Play Store for new version.

Firmware is on the Charge 4 itself.  Though probably not what you want to hear, the only suggestion it is to be patient.  It will be apparent on phone app when it is available to you.

Thanks and sorry for the poor Fitbit lingo as I'm pretty new. The firmware version is also displayed on my phone app as 48.20001.9629 and on my Fitbit Charge 4 as the same much older version. The Google Play Store offered a much more updated version yesterday and downloaded it but it didn't change the displayed version to the updated Firmware version. I've also tried restarting the Charge 4 itself - while plugged into the charger/USB still displaying the same much older firmware version.

Any practical tips for getting my Charge 4 and Fitbit app to the latest version?

Getting an app update from the Play Store does not affect the firmware version of the tracker on your wrist.  The phone app and tracker firmware are updated independently.  Typically there will be several phone app updates between much rarer firmware updates.  Firmware updates get rolled out gradually and there is no way to hurry it up.  You will be notified in phone app when firmware update is ready.  Getting a phone app update does not guarantee you are about to get the firmware update.

Thank you JonnyRow. I'm starting to get a better understanding. But what's going on with my firmware version seemingly being from last June? Also, I was seeing nighttime HRV data up until a day or 2 ago - but not currently, how is that explained?

It's been about 3 days now, I've tried, live chat customer support and an ongoing DM thread on Twitter with customer support, and my firmware version still displays as a version from last Year?

Do you have a reason to think the have been any more firmware updates in the past year, other than the one that is on its way out now?  Firmware updates do not come out often; it's not like they release one every month or so.
