Charge HR - remove greeting

Hi!

A few days ago I was looking at the Android app for my Charge HR and I entered my name (Pete) in the greeting field.  Since then, if I unplug my Charge HR from the adapter I get the usual messages such as "GO FOR IT" but now they all say "GO FOR IT PETE" because that's what the greeting does - it appends some text to the random greetings the Charge HR generates.  The thing is, I'd now like to remove the greeting so it's back to just the "normal" "GO FOR IT" etc. without my name at the end, but the app won't let me remove the greeting!  It insists on the greeting being at least one character long and it cannot be a space.  Okay, I could just put a full stop or an exclamation mark or something, but I just want to remove the personalised greeting completely.  There isn't a setting to do this on the web either as far as I can see, so how can I remove the greeting?  Simple thing!

It's not possible to remove the greeting manually.

A factory reset may do the trick as it restores the tracker to as it came new out of factory, though it unlinks the tracker from the account, needing to relink to the account & set up again. Also needing to make sure to perform a sync before doing the reset as otherwise any data since the last sync will be lost.

Feel free to Factory Reset (URL) your tracker.

Caution > This erases any tracked data (on the tracker) since the previous sync. If possible, make sure the tracker recently sync'ed to your account.

Actually... that's not quite true.

Last night I had a look on the Android app again and sure enough you can set a greeting (your name) but if you change the greeting it has to be at least one character long and / or at least one character different from your old greeting.  As I said in my previous post the web browser doesn't show the greeting setting or allow it to be changed at all, which seems like an oversight.

However, I looked on my iPad last night and guess what?  The iOS app allows you to set a greeting, and also to remove it by clicking an "X" button next to the field.  So I clicked the "X", the greeting field was cleared, and after a sync my Charge HR is no longer showing my name.  Hurrah!  No factory reset required then.

So a request to the app developers.  If you're going to add a simple feature to the app, like setting or clearing a greeting, don't have it as an exclusive feature on one platform!
