Community Groups Empty

Hi all,

I feel like a stupid idiot, but the groups page on my community section of my app is empty.  I was expecting it would show some groups that I could request to join based on my local area.  Am I missing something?  Location permission is enabled, app is up-to-date etc

Hi @Taking_the_Mike  Fitbit removed groups quite some time ago. You can start a group and ask people to join it. Some people post in the Get Moving forum area to invite others to a group or to get an invitation to one.

@Odyssey13 With all the updates etc. any idea why this now nonfunctioning page is still there?

@Lilbiddy  I'm wondering if clicking on the "Create a Group" would let them start a new one. It does. I just checked on my Android app and if I tap those words, it opens up to let me start a new group. I do see closed groups that I joined, but since @Taking_the_Mike hadn't joined anything previously, that could account for the seemingly blank non-functioning page.

I can't seem to find any groups in Get Moving forum.  It seems to be mostly people posting their goals and photos of ducks for some reason.  I want to find fellow users in my area, surely I am not the only FitBit wearer in Auckland?

@Taking_the_Mike  with Fitbit internationally, I'm sure there is someone out there. Why not start your own post over there and see who replies? You just might meet another person who wants to join in. All my groups are people I met on these forums and we live states apart, but we join the same challenges on Stridekick and keep motivated. Stridekick has a free version where people can do challenges, even if they wear different brand of trackers.

@Taking_the_Mike GetMoving forum has been nearly dead for quite a while and rarely new posts appear there. You may be more lucky searching other places like FB groups (ie. FitbitCommunity).

How do I join a group them?  The group page is blank on the app and I can find bugger all on the internet.

Is my app broken?  Or do FitBit groups no longer exist?

@Taking_the_Mike  Fitbit stopped having open groups, so you will need to do one of two things - 1. ask on the forums for someone to invite you to their closed group OR 2. begin your own group.  A closed group can't be seen, which is why you are having trouble. Just start your own group, it might be easier for you. Then post about it on the forums and watch people join in. You can also go to Stridekick for their free app, where many Fitbit people have joined to have the challenges they miss.
