Compatibility Fitbit Surge with Note 1

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello, I purchased a Fitbit Surge for my partner. He has a Samsung Note 1 and the Fitbit is not able to pair with the device. Is there a solution for this problem please otherwise we will be obligated to return the Fitbit which would be very unfortunate.

Thanks

Hi there @SunsetRunner, Its nice to have new faces around our Community. To start addressing this issue, make sure the Fitbit app is compatible with your mobile device by checking http://www.fitbit.com/devices.

Fitbit is the first fitness device to offer Bluetooth Smart syncing with your Android device. While many Android devices have a Bluetooth 4.0 chip, not all devices are able to be accessed by apps like the Fitbit App. Nonetheless the Surge include a Bluetooth wireless sync dongle that connect with your computer in order to sync if is not possible with a mobile device.

If your partner has a computer available you can try this video to learn more about setting up the Surge through a computer.

Hope this helps and let me know how it goes.

Maybe it is too late now for an answer but if you root your phone and then upgrade it to Android 6 (Marshmallow) then it might be OK.

Hi there @varkovik, good to see you have joined the Fitbit Community. We don't like to recommend to root the mobile device, since this wont help to make compatible the Fitbit tracker. To see the latest list of supported devices please visit: https://www.fitbit.com/devices.

Rest assure we've are eager to get support out as quickly as possible for more devices.

Thank you for your suggestions. Hope to see you soon!

Ok, I understand. I'll keep that in mind. On the other hand I just tried to help.
