Dashboard "cals left" doesn't match "calories left in your budget" when you tap it.

After the recent Version 2.48 update (May 1, 2017), the "cals left" on the dashboard don't match the "calories left in your budget" when you take the tile.

This seems like a bug, since I can't imagine why the two wouldn't be in sync.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I am having the same issue

Yes, and the app is using the lower # which is incorrect. .I called customer service..they were aware of it and said their engineers were working on it..I hope it gets fixed soon because I can't log my food or it shows I'm in or outta my zone, which isn't correct. .very frustrating!

I'm seeing the same issue after the last update. Budget on the dash is what I am used to, the budget in the food logging portion of the app is too low.

Not sure when this issue was originally posted, but I am having the same problem.  Not sure which is correct and which to ignore until it's fixed.

Anyone know?

Oops, now I see, since May 1st.  Still, which one is correct?

The calories on the dashboard is the one you should follow, it takes into account the estimate that you will burn the rest of the day. The calories left that you see when you click the tile on the dashboard does not take that future calorie burn of the day. What your starting budget minus what you currently ate minus what you currently burned minus your deficit for weight loss u have set (2 pounds a week would be minus 1000)

Thanks very much!

Thanks. .I know the calories on the dashboard are correct but unfortunately when you log your food the app is using the calories listed on the tile which are significantly lower...sure hope the next update fixes this....seems to only be android users cause my friends with iPhones the numbers match from the dashboard to the tile...

The work around is to sync to your phone then open the website... The website will have the correct callories left but you have to sync to your phone before checking website...I made a shortcut on my Android phone straight to the website dashboard.

My recommendation is if one seems super low use the other. The actual tile on the dashboard is my usual amount of calories. The other is extremely low. I would go with the higher amount. The tile changes when you adjust the settings too as far as how you want your calories given to you through the day. So I would say the tile is probably accurate.

Also happening on my Windows desktop app and browser.

I'll have to check into that and see if I get the same thing. .Its very frustrating that it's still not fixed...the whole point is to be accountable and log your food etc and when the information is out of sync, it defeats the purpose of using the fitbit..hopefully the moderator will see this and respond

Yes, I agree, frustrating and confusing.

Still not fixed, as of December 4, 2017!

Shoddy programming, IMO.

I'm convinced it's just my phone model, (LG V20) I about to migrate phones and the ones I've tried in store reflect the calorie count fine.

The dashboard tile and the Food hub itself don't match and i'm on a Google Pixel phone. Since nobody has added screen shots of this problem happening, I'll do that here:

dashboard calorie count

calorie tracker hub

April 2018- still no response on what the issue is? Or are the calculations purposely different?

I spoke with FitBit on the phone about this and they confirmed this is a known issue. There is no value/purpose of this mismatch we're seeing.

So which number do you go with?

I use the lower number otherwise it shows that I'm in or out of zone and I'm actually not. It drives me nuts believe me, especially since my friends with iPhones, the numbers still match and mine did to until that upgrade well over a year ago !! I know IT Depts can be slow, but come on Fitbit. 🙄
