Data from prior to switching to Google is gone

ANSWERED

I have been using Fitbit to log weight data for the past 10 years. I have been a premium user for the past several years. This morning my historical weight data from the years prior to switching to Google is gone. At the time I made the conversion all of my historical data successfully transferred to Google but it appears it no longer displays. Is there any way I can get My historical data back?

I'm using a Fitbit charge 5 and a pixel phone.

I signed back in with my Fitbit account

& password.  All stats were there.

Long time Fitbit account.  I just got a new iPhone. The new version of the Fitbit app made me sign in thru Google.  I see NONE of  my historic data, and the app will not let me sign in directly thru Fitbit.   How do I get access to my historic data?

I've tried all the standard things multiple times - restarting my Inspire2, restarting my phone, logging in, logging out, ad nausiam.

Thanks

If the issue is on the Fitbit side, why the hell did it only arise following the Google acquisition? Not that everything was always rosy in the pre-merger days, but I could track my progress. Odd as it may sound, all my data were still there immediately following the transition.

I remain very passed.🤬

Any update on this? It's March, and I see folks have been posting about this issue for months. Would really appreciate being able to get my steps and sleep data back for the past 12+ years over my 3 fitbits.

Thanks.-

Fitbit is Google now, quit trying to blame Fitbit, You purchased them and you required the migration now make it work.

Hi

I have been a user since 2013 and have used it as motivation to keep my steps up.

I have had a similar issue after i switched my fitbit account to google. I had to link my device to the app 12 years of data is lost. I got my first trainer badge yesterday!

You can extract your fitbit data from google but i have no idea what to do with it or how to open it. I am not a techie so i dont know what format its in. Its certainly not going back on the app as thats counting from zero.

Does anyone know how to extract and look at the data once you have asked for a data transfer following switching from fitbit to google?

Thanks

Colin

How do we unflag this post as "answered"?

There may be an answer but the issue is far from solved... And if we want Fitbit (Google) to pay attention then the thread needs visibility. If it's showing as answered, it can be ignored by mods...

This issue is very much still present, very much annoying, and will ultimately result in Google losing a lot of paying customers to alternative solutions.

For my partner, Google have made it clear they don't care about personal data. I am a level 7 Google Maps Guide who had map data and timeline history saved since 2013. I am in the top 10% of reviewers for pubs, clubs, parks, restaurants, and several other categories and it was good to see where I'd been on a map. I migrated my data to my phone to "keep it safe" as they said "timeline is changing. Secure your data now" and then literally 3 weeks later they emailed an apology saying they'd deleted my data. If I hadn't backed it up it was gone forever. Obviously, the backup feature was not enabled so I have now lost my record of my holidays, trips with/to see friends and relatives (including lost ones) my business trips, and my ability to prove to anyone where I was at any time or retrospectively calculate business mileage.

I have been with FitBit since 2015. I migrated to Google in late 2024 and have been on this thread since then, waiting for a fix... Google just sent me a Fitbit anniversary badge for being with them for 9 years... (which is a year off, but who's counting...) but they have deleted everything from before I migrated to Google. No weight data, calorie data, workout data, sleep data... All gone.

I am one seriously frustrated customer who is losing faith in Google.

I've always hated Apple but they're starting to look appealing...
