1,000's of steps are being added, especially at midnight - I'm usually sleeping or sitting down, certainly not walking around with 3,000 steps in my small apartment!
Each time I delete from the dashboard in Windows, and on my Android (Samsung S20), they are removed, the steps revised correctly BUT they appear again later. I have a Charge 5 fitbit.
It's making the Fitbit redundant.
Anyone know how to stop this?
Thanks.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Resco.
I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with your Fitbit device. Thank you for trying to get them resolved before contacting us.
If you have linked your Fitbit account to a third party app, the activities logged from their side can add steps to your Fitbit account.
Whether you have manually logged an activity on your Fitbit account, it can also add extra steps. You can delete any manually logged activity or activity from a third party app to remove those extra steps.
To negate the extra data, please make sure you are following the instructions in this article in the menu "How do I delete steps and floors in the Fitbit app?".
Hope this helps.
