Different step count on summary screen vs daily screen

My step summary page, which shows several days of activity, is reporting less than a hundred steps for some days. If you drill down to the data for each of those dates, that screen shows over six thousand steps. What's wrong with the summary page?

Do you have any manually added exercises? What type of exercises?
