Disappointing lack of support for Huawei phones

Hi,

I recently bought a new phone - a Huawei Honor 9 Lite.  The reason for this choice is that I keep on dropping my more expensive phones and breaking them.  So I plumped for a budget phone this time.

On a side note, the Honor 9 Lite is a great phone!  BUT, as so many others on here have said, there is zero-to-little Fitbit support for Huawei products.

Why?

Huawei have around a 14% market share in Europe alone.  That's a heck of a lot of devices.

I can pair my phone to multiple other devices, such as in-car stereo, wireless speakers and headphones.  But my Fitbit watch?  Nope.  Nada.  No bluetooth connection, no sync.

It's really, really disappointing and frustrating.  Come on Fitbit, sort it out please.

This is the reason according to fitbit:

"Due to Bluetooth issues that prevent Huawei Lite models, including P8 and P9 Lite, from syncing with some devices, like Fitbit devices, our products are not compatible with these mobile phones."

Sounds like there may not be anything fitbit can do about it.
