Distance not recorded for automatic bike activities

Hello,
I use Fitbit on my Google Pixel Watch 2 (native watch application).
I notice that no distance is calculated for cycling activities triggered automatically (nb: for walking and running, it's OK Fitbit calculates the distance according to the number of strides I presume).
But what about cycling activities? Doesn't the GPS have to be activated to calculate the distance?

How is it with you for Fitbit users on a Google Pixel Watch mount?

Thank you.

@2Flo9 have you tried tracking your cycling activities using the Fitbit Exercise app on your Pixel Watch? The GPS will connect automatically and should calculate your distance. In general, you will get more reliable data using manual tracking on the device than relying on automatic detection. This is true for walking and running too.

Thanks. Yes, of course I did. And distances are counted in this case.

But I'm talking about the activities automatically triggered by Fitbit on my Google pixel watch (and not the manually triggered activities).

@2Flo9 if you want distance to be calculated, you need to start the activity on the Watch in order for GPS to be activated. If you rely on automatic tracking, you will not have GPS and therefore distance will not be calculated. For walking and running, distance is calculated from step count. That is not possible with cycling.

Thank you for your time. That's what I thought. But Fitbit customer support and Google Pixel Watch support me the opposite...
