turn off the banner. The app is part of the Fitbit product that is not
free. There is no option for an which is not free version. I bet you 29
cents if you have premium you would get marketing messages for something
else. The bottom line is companies like this don't respect their users.
They don't think how can we serve them better they think what is the
fastest easiest way to get more money from them. Constantly trying to reach
their hand in our pockets. This behavior needs to be called what it is so
it is not normalized giving the go ahead to push the annoying behavior even
further.

Reply I got on twitter said they'd no plans to get rid of it. Latest updates are all focusing on premium (which doesn't work properly - the sleep heart rate graph especially) and the basics just get worse. I just keep going back to an older version.

I've been using a.p.k mirror for mine for a few years now not sure what date mine is from though (either late last year or early this year ) I don't think a link to it would be allowed here - Disclaimer also beware installing apps not from Google play (security/performance reasons) etc .

This one kind of marketing technique, but it mostly annoys people rather attract them. This message annoys me every night before I go to sleep and every morning. They always offer me to go premium. Some of my friends tried to go premium, they didn’t see much difference except that the message disappears. If I was responsible for marketing in their company, wouldn’t use this technique. It looks like they are desperately asking for money. There are plenty of other ways to use digital marketing. I just found recently about findfocus.net . They talk about digital marketing and different software to use. Maybe it will help those guys.

Unfortunately, it's common for free apps to have some form of advertising to encourage users to upgrade to a premium version. However, it's worth checking the app settings to see if there's an option to turn off or minimize these messages.
