My husband and I have downloaded the Fitbit app on our phones to track each other's steps. We've sent each other friend requests but haven't gotten any message or notification to accept. We've tried using emails and phone numbers.
Have tried troubleshooting clearing the cache and restarting the phones, have also checked the privacy settings.

Thanks for sharing the steps that both of you have tried prior to posting. While this is odd, may I know if you and your husband have migrated to Google? I'm asking this as if just one of you did this process, the other Fitbit account might be unavailable until it moves to a Google Account.
Assuming this is your case, I'd recommend you or your husband to complete the migration process and try sending a friend request one more time. For more information, see this help article.
