I use the step counter as my primary activity to track. I'm a night shift nurse. I work 7p to 7A. Some nights, I average a 1,000 steps per hour. I only know this, because of how many steps I complete between midnight and when I get off shift.
It's been one of those weeks. I put in 19,000+ steps yesterday. (Some 10K steps between midnight and 7:30 a.m.) But that's a rough calculation. That's calculating the end of the previous shift, and the first half of the following shift, within the same calendar day. My step counter isn't accurate for tallying my steps during a 12-hr night shift, as it is for my day shift colleagues.
Please update and move the option to alter the start point of data collection, or even select what data is collected between certain time periods. Why is this not a thing? I know I am not the only one. Thanks

Hi @mbare0218, it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums, welcome back!
I appreciate all the information and details that were shared in your post, thanks for the suggestion that was shared in your post. As it turns out, Fitbit devices are designed to reset the information that was tracked at 00:00. That said, I recommend you to participate in our Feature suggestion board, in which I found a similar suggestion that's called: Edit Time of Daily Reset of Stats / Add Nightshift.
While this specific suggestion isn't currently planned, we have left voting open so we can keep tracking this request overtime.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.
