Energy burned appearing as calories instead of kilojules in graph

I have my energy units set to kilojules and on the app's 'today page' it shows my energy burned correctly.
But on the week view that has a graph showing how many days I hit my target, the bar for today seems to be displaying calories - despite showing the correct number beneath.
This seems to be confirmed when I click to display the day view graph and the energy is displayed as calories though it is labelled as kj.
I have attached a link to some photos to better explain what I mean.
I've had the fitbit app for a week or so now but have only just bought a Fitbit Versa 3 today. This problem seemed to occur right after I connected it.
I am running Android 9.0 on a Samsung S8+ with Fitbit 3.31.1
Any advice on how to fix this?
I have tried switching the units to calories, exiting and force stopping the app then switching back to kj and force stopping again but it didn't help. The graph did appear as it should when the units were set to calories.

My first thought is that this is a bug in the programming and not user fixable.

Hi @kristal160. Welcome! It's great to see a new face around the forums. @Rich_Laue, thanks for sharing your insights.

@kristal160, thanks for sharing detailed information about this situation and for the troubleshooting tips tried prior to posting. Also, for the screenshots provided. It's odd the units are mixed up in the Fitbit app. Even though you've tried some steps, please give a try to the following:

  1. Log out from the Fitbit app.
  2. On your phone's settings tap Apps > Fitbit > Storage > Clear Cache.
  3. Go back one screen and tap on Force Stop.
  4. Uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit app on your phone.
  5. Reboot your phone.
  6. Open the Fitbit app, log back in and check your details after syncing your watch.

I'll look forward to your response.
