Excessive mobile data usage

Hi, my Fitbit app is using excessive data, 410mb since 9th May.  I am using a Moto G6.  When I am out of WiFi then the app is using around 2mb per hour whether or not it is opened.  I have turned off all day sync and do not have always connected on.  This is foreground data not background.  This is using nearly all my data, how do I fix?

Welcome to the Forums @Ronkings.

Thanks for bringing this up. Let me help you figure out what is going on.

In this situation I'd like to ask you some questions about the situation:

  • What Android version are you running?
  • Do you have notifications set up?

In the meantime, as a workaround, I'd like to recommend that you force close the Fitbit app whenever you are not going to sync your Fitbit or check your data. That will prevent it from using that much data.

I look forward to your reply.

Hello @Ronkings.

Thanks for your reply and for answering my questions.

In this case, I'd like to recommend that you try uninstalling the Fitbit app and then installing it once again. That will help in getting the data to stay under control.

Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions.
