Exercise app crashes on Google Pixel Watch 3

So when go for a run and start tracking the activity after a while, when lift my wrist I don't see the activity tracker, but the watch face and don't see my pace or other metrics, which is starting to annoy me. Sometimes it randomly works, when I'm lifting my wrist couple if times in the row, and swear this was working in the past, the activity always stayed on top while it was activated. Any clues why this is happening and if I'm missing a setting maybe. don't have always on display activated, also not in the past.

Hi, @grewer, welcome to the community. Your question relates to the working of your PW3 rather than the functions of the Fitbit Android app. I use a PW2 and suspect the settings on your PW3 are not very different to those I have. (no doubt other community members are using a PW3 and may be able to offer more accurate advice) I recommend checking the settings on your PW3, you may have inadvertently changed something. On the PW2 you would swipe down from the clock screen to settings>display>check screen timeout/go to watch face/always on screen. If "go to the watch face" is set at a shorter interval than previously, that may be causing your issue. If you can't make any progress, I suggest you post at Sign in - Google Accounts

I hope this helps.

Cheers

I've had this issue many times in the past. What I've done is press the side button on the watch to bring up the recent apps menu, click Fitbit Exercise, then I can see my ongoing activity. It's frustrating for sure, if an exercise is ongoing, it shouldn't disappear from the screen unless I actively press the crown to return to the home screen.

I used to get this all the time during resistance training. It turned out it was getting spurious screen or button taps from either my gloves or sometimes a cable from a cable machine. I started turning on screen lock during workouts and I have not had this issue since.

This doesn't work for me. In that case the watch is automatically pausing the activity and I need to press resume so I don't lose any tracking. Really annoying...

This community.fitbit.com needs a Pixel Watch thread.

The interactions with Fitbit means that going over to the Google site is useless.
