Exercise does not get save

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I use My Fitbit charge 2 to track my running. When i get home i end the exercise and look at the data. But it does not get saved. I can't find it anywere later. This has only been a problem for about a week, and i am not doing anything different now.

What can i do to fix this?

Hello @FruNielsen, good to see you again in the Fitbit Community! I'm wondering how are you tracking your exercise? Are you using Connected GPS or MobileRun?

If you are using Connected GPS take in consideration the following:

  • Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and your tracker is connected (paired) to the phone. To confirm, go into your phone's Bluetooth settings and make sure you see Blaze on the list of devices.
  • You selected an exercise type from the Exercise menu that has a gear icon in the bottom left corner. The gear icon represents connected GPS.
  • GPS is turned on for the exercise type. Tap the gear icon and make sure the Use Phone GPS setting is on.
  • Your phone is within about 20 feet of your tracker.
  • Your phone can identify your location and can track your location when you're not using Wi-Fi. For more information on which phone settings you may need to adjust, see How do I use multisport or exercise mode on my tracker?
  • The Fitbit app is open on your phone or running in the background. Do not force quit the Fitbit app.
  • If your mobile device is running Android Marshmallow, see Why do I receive access requests from the Fitbit app on my Android mobile device?

If the previous recommendations are not the problem, try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Open the Fitbit app to reestablish a connection with your tracker.
  2. Reboot your mobile device.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes and if the issue persists.

I start the exercise in the Fitbit App, GPS is always on, Phone in my pocket and watch on My wrist. When i finish the exercise i can go through all of the collected data. I close the App, and then all of the data is gone, next time i open it. So it is not a matter of it not tracking the steps, km, heartbeat and so on, it just does not get saved

Hi FruNielsen

I don't have the answer, sorry, but I do have exactly the same problem with my Flex. It has not saved the last 3 tracked exercises I have done (over 3 weeks), but it does save logged exercises (things I manually put in).

I have not done anything differently in the last 3 weeks to what I was doing in the last 2 years with regards to tracking exercise. I have just rebooted my Flex (I think that's what it's called, by poking it in the hole at the back when it is charging) to see if this makes any difference. I'll let you know.

If not, please can someone find us both a solution?!

I am so frustrated! I know I have done the exercise, but I do like to be able to look back at what I've done to boost morale on slow days 😉

OK, so I restarted my Flex, went out for a walk, tracked it on my phone and... it still doesn't work.

As FruNielsen said, it shows the exercise data straight away, but then fails to save.

Please can anyone help fix this?

Me again... I don't know how to link threads, but search for this one: FitBit lost my map and pace data. and you can see it's an Android app issue and there's a temporary fix.

Awsome your looking into it, because i just gave up. I have read the entire thread, but my head is spinning. If i dont use the pause button until the end i will be fine? Or i can install an oldermand version of the app- older than 3/9? Is That correctly understood? I am so freaking sick of this. I got my charge 2 for Christmas, had to buy a New Phone and went for a Huawei p9 lite. I did not think about compatible devices because the watch i sold as android compatible- NOT true. I was lucky that my husband would take my Huawei and then i got a Samsung galaxy s7. More than 1000 dollars spend on phones and now this...

Hi

So yes, I think it's the app that's the problem, not the phone or the fitbit (I've got a Flex). It's do to with the app update from 9 or 10 March. I don't know how to get it back to the version before the update but if you can, this should fix it. And if not, then the answer seems to be to not pause any activity. Fingers crossed it'll get fixed soon 🙂
