False gps info, I did not visit the neighbour on my walk !

The gps map of my walk is normally rather acurate.  You can even tell wiich side of the street I waljed. But yesterday it sugested that I did pass the street and payed a visit to my neighbour on the other side. I am dure she was not at home. If my wife sees this I am in trouble. Is there a wsy to correct this strang behavoiur?

My cars GPS often has me in a field or a lake.

Clouds, buildings, trees can slow or speed up the signal from one or more satellites,  this will look like you are not where you are.

We are calculating micro second time periods from a satelite that is traveling several times the speed of sound.
