Daily goals are set to 0 and settings disappeared

The step counts seem to be okay, but it's showing that my step count goal is 0. I can't find anyplace to change to my correct step count goal. Is this due to yesterday's updated app?

Targets for floors, active minutes, distance, calories burned and steps do not appear in app.

For example if I did 20000 steps yesterday, it says I exceeded my goal by 20000 steps, because it believes my step goal is 0, when in fact it's always been 10000.

Under "You" , goals, see all - I can only see exercise days and hourly activity as available goals.

I have updated phone, app, restarted, logged out, restarted device.. nothings working

If I log out and log back in, the goals reappear for about a minute, then disappear again.

I have no apps synced, health connect is disconnected.

Hi there, @jerseystar.

I'm glad your step count is showing correctly and to change your daily goal, please give a try to the following:

  1. Open the Fitbit app, tap the You tab
  2. Scroll down to Goals and tap See all
  3. Tap the goal you want to edit
  4. Edit the value of the desired goal and tap Set Goal
  5. Go back to the Today tab and pull down on the screen to force a manual sync

By the way, I've moved your post to the Android board. This is because your question relates to a different issue, and this will help us to prevent any confusion for other members.

Thank you for responding. However, I have done exactly what you said and the Goals list does not include number of steps or total distance. All that is listed is Sleep (bedtime, wake time, sleep duration); Activity (exercise days, hourly activity); Health; Weight; Body fat percentage; Mindfulness; Mindful days; Nutrition; Food; Water. When I go to Today, the dot on the circle around the step icon starts to move, as if the goal is 8000 steps (what I had originally set) and then it slides right back to the start because it says my goal is 0 steps. This has only been occurring for the past few days -- I assume since the latest app update.

I have the same issue and that also doesn't work as the step goal does not come up

Seeing exactly the same no way to edit target step count.

Graphics for Steps, miles and cal all sweep round then go back to zero though actual data still show in numbers.

Android app ver 4.39

Hello @jerseystar

Which version of the Fitbit app do you have? I'm on version 4.38 and see categories under Activity that you apparently aren't seeing:

  • Exercise days
  • Active Zone Minutes
  • Steps
  • Hourly Activity
  • Distance
  • Energy burned

Hello @Antoeknee

Are you seeing the same list as @jerseystar under Activity when you tap on the You tab and tap on Goals > See all?

Hello @Sanso14

Which version of the Fitbit app do you have?

I've seen a few other users reporting the same. I'm currently on version 4.38 and am able to see the full list of goals under Activity.

Please report this issue using the Feedback option in the Fitbit app:

  • Tap on your picture in the upper left of the Today page in the Fitibit app
  • Tap on Feedback in the menu that opens
  • Complete the prompts and submit

Although it's likely that you won't receive a response, the team receives & reviews the feedback reports.

I'll be watching for your reply about what app version you're on. If you started seeing this issue after updating to version 4.39, I will try to escalate this to the team.

Hello @Antoeknee

Thanks for confirming you've got app version 4.39 & that your wife on app version 4.38 sees the full list of goals.

Hi@LizzyFitbit

I saw another user report the same issue (<-- click link) & asked them which app version they have.

My Fitbit app isn't letting me set a step count daily goal or distance goal. Anyone else had any similar issues?

Hi @RiekoC I have the same issue (all goals gone), and have 4.39 (110248068)

My Android phone had an update installed today and since then my step goal, active minutes and calories burned goals have all reset.  Step goal is now zero, down from 11k, active minutes at 22 instead of 30 and the app only lists two activity goals to set.

App version is 4.39

I've rebooted the phone and Fitbit twice to try and restore step goals but have been unsuccessful.  Has anyone else had this problem?

@RiekoC  Confirmed it's related to 4.39, I removed it and installed 4.38 and the goals are back.

Hi! I also have the same issue, all activity goals are gone except Exercise days and Hourly activity. Weirdly enough, when I look at "Activity" under "Goals" in the "You" tab I can sometimes see how the number starts at 6, but then plummets down in under maybe a second to 2.

It seems to be related to the app version. I recently got a new phone. On my new phone I have version 4.39 (110248068) and this is where the issue comes up. On my old phone the app hasn't updated yet and is at 4.38 (110235289) and there is no issue there. I can also add that on the old phone the number of activity goals is set at 6, the same number I could see the activity goals plummet down from like I described above. Maybe that means something.

I suddenly noticed that on my app I no longer have goal steps and goal distance to walk.

This morning I have 42 of 0 steps... instead of 42 of 8000. I go to my Actvity Settings where I can change my hourly activity or exersise days, I thought I could change my step goal there.
Did that setting move somewhere? Did daily step goal get set to 0 for others as well?

Hello @Pol3202 and welcome to the Community.  Do you use an Android phone?  It looks like there is a bug in an app udate.  Other Android users are posting about this, too.
