I have a new Charge6. My previous tracker was a Charge2 I think. When I tried to link my Charge6 to my Fitbit account, I got a message that I had to move my account to Google. When I tried to do that, I got a message from Google that there was already a Fitbit account registered to my email. I only have one Google account and when I checked, there was no Fitbit showing as having access to the account. I don't want to set up a special Google account just to accomodate Fitbit. Would deleating my Fitbit account help?

Hello @Susan-A-M and welcome to the Community.  NO -- don't delete that your account or you will lose all your historical data.  You didn't describe the steps you took, but these are the steps:

  • Log in to your Fitbit account using your email and password
  • Tap on the gear icon in the upper right of your app
  • Tap on Move Account and follow the steps

If you followed these steps and got that message, please contact Support for more help.

As I said, I only have one Fitbit account and only one Google account and my Google account does not show Fitbit associted with it.

I'll try Support when they open tomorrow.

I afraid "Support" was no help at all. I did a Chat session and I'm not sure if it was a person or AI on the other end. The responses just seemed a bit off. After I described my problem I thought the responder understood my issue and might help. But, as the chat progressed things started to go off track and it ended up with every response being a variation of "Follow the instructions". I finally gave up. Today I broke down and created a new Google account that I will use only for Fitbit. I'm happy to say that did work and I was able to sync my Charge 6 and transfer my old Fitbit account to the new Google one.

Thanks for the advice and support everybody. I really appreciated it.
