Fitbit Alta and Xiaomi Mi A2 compatibility

Hi Team!

Pls your help. My Fitbit Alta has stopped connecting to my (new phone). This was working perfectly before. The phone is a Xiaomi Mi A2, Android v9. It was connecting before, but now the Fitbit app shows that there's a Bluetooth connectivity issue. I've tried restarting phone, restarting bluetooth, restarting Alta as suggested in other Forum posts, but still not working. And now I ran out of ideas 😉

Could you please advise? Thx a lot in advance!

Is the device you are trying to sync to a supported device?

You can find a list of compatible trackers here and here.

Hi there @StephanieVerena, welcome to the Fitbit Community  Forums! 🙂

I'm sorry to hear that you're having a hard time getting your Fitbit Alta to sync to your Xiaomi Mi A2. Thanks for all that you've tried to get it to work.

As @SunsetRunner suggested, it seems that your phone is not on the list of compatible devices for syncing. When it comes to devices compatibility, due to Bluetooth issues that prevent certain devices, like Fitbit devices from syncing, our products aren't compatible with the following phones:

Huawei P8 Lite
Huawei P9 Lite
Huawei P20 Lite
Xiaomi Mi 6

For all other devices, if they're not on the list of compatible devices, you might be able to sync with them but we don't guarantee that the functionality will be optimum as we are still testing on these phone models and due to the large number of Android and Windows devices, our team has not yet tested all of them. We're continually adding more devices and improving our compatibility, so if you don't see your device on the list check back soon.

To use the Fitbit app you must have one of the following operating systems installed on your phone or tablet:

Apple iOS 10 or higher
Android OS 5.0 or higher
Windows 10 version 1607.0 or higher

Alternatively, you can use the Fitbit app for Windows 10 on your computer, or use Fitbit Connect to sync with a Mac or Windows 8.1 computer to access your data and take advantage of the many features of your Fitbit device.

To see the full list of the devices that are compatible, click here.

If you need anything else, feel free to let us know.

PS. I'm moving your post to the Android app board for categorization purposes.

Thanks @FerdinandFitbit for your extensive and quick reply 🙂

I've tried to open the link you sent for compatible devices, but this links gives an error. Would there be another way to check for this list?

The strange this is that is used to connect to this phone; it just stopped from one day to another! Phone is running on Android 9 + this device is not on the list with non- compatible devices....

Using laptop at the minute indeed, but of course I would like to have it at hand, on my phone.
Thanks!
