I've had the Fitbit App on my android phone & Kindle 10 for years. Today I transferred Fitbit on my phone over to Google (can't remember why). When I later tried to open it on my Kindle, it wanted me to log in - I presumed because I'd done the Google thing in my phone app. Anyway, no matter what password I used (old Fitbit or Google) it wouldn't log me in - the Fitbit forgot password option also wouldn't work. Perhaps stupidly, I deleted the app on my Kindle & went to the Appstore to reinstall it - but now I can't find it. I can still get my dashboard etc, by logging into Fitbit.com but obviously, the App was so much easier. I'm running on v 3.83.1 on my phone app.

Hi @TwitTwoo
I guess when Fitbit was its own company, the Amazon app store included the Fitbit app. However, now that Google acquired Fitbit, it's no longer available. According to an Android Police article, Fire tablets are not Safety-net certified by Google.
The workaround that I know of would be to sideload the Google Play store on your Kindle Fire HD tablet. Once you do that, you should be able to find, download, & install the Fitbit app on your Kindle. You can find instructions on how to sideload the Google Play store by doing an internet search. There's a very detailed article on how to do this on AndroidPolice.com, dated May 22, 2023 (I consider Android Police to be a trustworthy source). Just be aware of all the caveats, including that the app may not work correctly or might cause an issue with another Kindle app. At least, that was my experience when I sideloaded a different app. I eventually had to remove the sideloaded app and Google Play store from my Kindle Fire HD tablet.
If you try this, please let us know how it worked out for you.

Hi @TwitTwoo Fitbit will only work with a compatible tablet (iOS or Android) or a smartphone. The Kindle isn't a true Android operating system, so it won't work.

Thank you @Odyssey13. It's very disappointing seen as I've had it on my last 2 Kindles for at least 4yrs (up to this morning!) 😪.

@TwitTwoo I knew there had been a workaround for Kindle users, but once you removed the app, looks like you couldn't find it to download. Maybe another Kindle user will see your post and offer some help. I have an Amazon tablet and would love to be able to use it, too.

@RiekoC - thank you for your workaround suggestion.
I tried it, downloaded Play without a problem but, when I chose the Fitbit App, it only gave me the option of downloading it to my old android phone (it knew it was already downloaded to my current phone). There was no option to download it to any other device 😓.
With all things being equal, and with your experience of having to remove such workaround downloads, I think I'll just suck it up & forget using my Kindle.
Thanks again 😉

Well, drat @TwitTwoo I was hoping that sideloading the Fitbit app might work on the Kindle. Now, we know it's a no-go. Thanks for trying and letting us know the outcome.
