Hello @RBAZ.

Thanks for answering all of those questions! I definitely understand how this can make you very frustrated.

Let's try to reset the app preferences in your phone in general. That might help in getting the Fitbit app to stop. Please follow these steps:

  1. Go to settings and then tap on Apps.
  2. Tap the menu key (with 3 dots at the top right) on your Android device. This will bring a pop up box.
  3. Select the Reset App Preferences option
  4. Tap on Reset apps option.
  5. Continue with all the process.

That should definitely help out. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello @RBAZ.

Thanks for bringing this up.

I'd like to ask some questions regarding what is going on:

  • When did this start happening? Was there any change that could've caused this?
  • What phone model are you using?
  • Do you get some kind of message when this happens?

In the meantime I'd recommend that you try to force close the app whenever you are not using.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Morning,

Guessing almost a week, possibly when updated to Fitbit 2.77? Otherwise
cannot think of any other changes.

Running Moto Z Force Droid with Android 8.0.0

No matter what app I am running, it seems like every 2 minutes (almost
exactly) - Fitbit pulls itself back on screen. No MSG's. Just opens -
repeatedly while trying to write this reply.

I have uninstalled.... Re-installed... Re-booted... Repeatedly.

I have tried turning off notifications & "on all the time" (syncing
stuff)...

When I go into APP controls & do a Force Stop - it does not seem to allow,
the button stays green & Fitbit keeps popping up q 2 minutes.

I just logged out of Fitbit, tried Force Closing & still keeps happening.

So far nothing has helped.

Have I mentioned that am Frustrated?

More suggestions?

Thank you,
Richard

By Resetting the App Preference, what will this do to the other apps on my phone?

This has been very frustrating.

Ready to dump the fitbit!!!

Last straw was taking a group Christmas picture with the group ready, only to have this Fitbit app interrupt the photo app causing every one to think that I some dumb-**ahem** that can't take a picture.

Hello @mjaklrsav.

I'll gladly answer your question.

Since you'd only be restarting the preferences of the Fitbit app, not the phone, then it wouldn't affect any other app in your phone, not in the slightest. Please do give it a shot as it should do the trick.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Not only did it not work, but it re-configured all notifications to ON which I had to manually turn each one off.

Any thing else?

=====================================================
I have a Blaze fitbit with firmware 17.8.402.1 with app version 2.84 last updated 12/17/2018 on my LG G6 with Android 8.0.0.

I run the fitbit app blue tooth 24/7 and most of the time when I open any app the Fitbit app pops up and overtakes any screen.

Actually and typical event:

At a Christmas party with family and some one suggest a group picture.
I volunteer to take the picture.
Group is gather and ready, I turn on my phone and click on the photo app.
Just as I focus and try to take the picture, the Fitbit app pops up and i have to cancel out by pressing the button a couple of times.

As you may imagine,  I am extremely annoyed, the group is annoyed and then I finally take the photo 5-10 seconds after i almost took the pic.

This happens to any app. Just trying to make a simple call becomes annoying.
This doesn't happen every time i turn on the phone but 12-15 times a day.

This has been addressed in the forum and the post states "Solved", however there is one item in the fix that needs explaining.

The fix is to go to "Reset App Preferences option" and reset all apps on phone.

What does this do to all of the other apps?

Does this fix correct the issue on the Fitbit app but then causes issues with other apps on the phone?

I have not tried the "Reset App Preferences option" and I am waiting for information on what this can cause to the other apps.

Thanks,
Mike

This is getting pretty bad. Last night driving with my GPS on the phone and when I needed to look to see if I need to make a turn , FITBIT CAME ON!!!!.

Come on Fitbit, there has to be a fix for this.

Day 136 - Still have the issue and it just gets worse. The **ahem** app pops up in a middle of a game to trying to dial a phone.  Simply unbelievable that I am the only person with this pathetic issue.

Hello @mjaklrsav.

I apologize for the delay in my response.

I have some questions on the matter:

  • When the Fitbit app pops up, does it pop up at any particular page or only showing the Web Dashboard?
  • About the trying to dial a phone, could what is the specific message that you get?
  • Is Bluetooth turned on when this happens?

In the meantime let's try to check the permissions for the app. You can check on this by going into the Application settings on your phone and tapping on the Fitbit app. There let's try turning the permissions off, except internet and Bluetooth permissions, and see if this continues to happen.

Look forward to your reply.

It always pop up on the Fitbit Dashboard page.

When I opened the phone app and started punching in a phone number, the Fitbit Dashboard page pops up. I then have to back out and go back to the phone app.

Bluetooth is always on

As for the App permissions,..if I go to Settings, General, Apps & notifications, App Info, Fitbit, Permissions. Once in Permissions, i have every item off except location. Items that are off in the page are Camera, Contacts, Phone, SMS and storage.

In the App Info tab and then going to the top right three dots "reset app preferences", I reset all preferences and it did not correct the issue.

And last, in the App & notification page under App permissions,  there are 10 catogories. Body Sensor (1of2), Calendar (6of17) Camera(9of44), Contacts(19fo61), Microphone(13of36), Phone(18of54), SMS(13of21), Storage(22of82), Your location(16of65), and Additional Permissions.  What do I check in here?

Hello @mjaklrsav.

Thanks for reaching back with all of those details.

In regards to the permissions, my suggestion would be to try unchecking them all, for the sake of testing how it behaves after that.

In addition, let's try updating the app to the latest version. You can click here to read more about it.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
