Fitbit Blaze and Huawei Honor 9 Lite compatibility

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have seen this issue around since last year and shocked to find that fitbit have still not worked out the compatibility of the blaze with the Honor 9 lite (the most popular budget smart phone).

I have just bought the Honor 9 lite (been around for a while now) and it gets stuck at the connecting stage of my blaze. I have tried all suggested fixes. But the phone isn't on the fitbit compatible devices list... so I believe they haven't sorted the phone for blaze.

Really disappointed as I am a fitbit loyal customer (often upgrading and buying add ons) and will now look to other fitness trackers - as this phone seems to have been completely neglected despite people raising the issues for a long time now.

Or is there a fix I have missed?

Hi there @Shaskha, welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums1 🙂

I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems getting your Blaze to sync to your Huawei Honor 9 Lite. I'd like to help you out.

I'd like to start by confirming as you mentioned, that the Huawei Honor 9 Lite is not in the list of compatible devices, so this could be the main reason it's not connecting. When it comes to devices compatibility, keep in mind that the two devices that are for sure not compatible at the moment are the Huawei P9 Lite and the Huawei P8 Lite and there are no plans on making these models available at the moment.

For all other devices, if they're not on the list of compatible devices, you might be able to sync with them but we don't guarantee that the functionality will be optimum as we are still testing on these phone models and due to the large number of Android and Windows devices, our team has not yet tested all of them.

In the meantime, what I can recommend is making sure that you're running the latest version of the Fitbit app and the latest version available for your operative system on your phone. Also, you can try to remove your tracker from your connected Bluetooth devices and to add it again.

For this, go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone. On your connected devices, look for your tracker. Tap on it, then choose the option that says "Forget this device". Then, you can proceed to set it up again. For this, go to the Account section at the top right corner on the Fitbit app and select the option that says "Set up a new device". Follow the on-screen instructions and once you're done, your tracker should be syncing without a problem.

You can also try to restart your Fitbit Blaze. You can easily do this by pressing the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds. This will make your tracker to reboot

Again, this doesn't guarantee that your phone will connect but could help.

Anything else you may need, I'm always around.

PS. I'm moving your post to the Android app board for categorization purposes.

I've tried this tip I found online with my charge and it worked... OK so I've searched high and low for this but finally have my Forerunner 230 and P Smart in connection all the time. This worked for my wives Honor 9 lite as well so thought I would share for those interested.

Make sure you already have the device connected in both Connect and via your phones Bluetooth. It should be listed as a connected/trusted device

Go to Apps & Notifications > Apps

Find Connect and click Battery

Click Launch and turn off Manage Automatically

Turn on the 3 options below and save

Go back in to Connect, wait for the device to connect and close the app.

Wait 30 seconds and the device will connect again automatically.

If you close your apps in bulk with the trash can icon, it will kill the connection and you'll need to open Connect again for it to work.

This has taken me a few weeks to work out but I hope it helps others.
