Fitbit Charge 4 stuck in "download or update" message

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've read all the articles about this issue, tried all the steps, nothing is resolving what used to work perfectly fine until now.

I get as far as inputting the pairing code (i.e. phones bluetooth connects to the device), then my Fitbit says to download or update app.

I've restarted my Charge 4 while charging, I've uninstalled/reinstalled the app, I've restarted my phone...still nothing.

HELLLPPPPP.

@OcGurl Hello there. I will be happy to help you set up your Fitbit Charge 4 again.

Thanks for the exaplanation and what you have tried to solve this on your own. In this case I recommend you the following. Before attempting a new setup, please head to the Bluetooth settings on your smartphone. There is a list of paired devices. Given that the Charge 4 has been paired to your smartphone already, please remove it from this list. Then proceed to restart your Charge 4 according to the instructions in this article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?. Then open the Fitbit app and try to set up your Charge 4 as a new device again.

I already tried that. Didn't work.

Its not the phone. I tried with my iPad, which has never been connected to it, and I get the exact same error.
