Fitbit/Hidratespark app integration issue

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

There issue with the integration between Hidratespark and the Fitbit app. The date is being ignored. For example... if you were to take some drinks after you close down the apps/phones the previous day... Hidratespark correctly pulls from bottle and reflects the correct dates the next day but once you trigger Fitbit to pull the data by opening or doing a refresh, all data gets applied to current date.

Another way to reproduce is go into the Hidratespark app and add water to an earlier day. Then go into Fitbit and trigger a pull by opening or doing a refresh. You will see the value added for a different day is added to the current day in the Fitbit app.

@Randquest Nice to see you again in the forums. Thanks for reaching out about the Hidratespark app and its integration with Fitbit.

First I suggest you make sure the Fitbit app is up to date. I also recommend you take a look at the tips in the following article:

I confirmed that both applications were up to date.  I also went through "How do I troubleshoot apps connected to my Fitbit account?"

The issue still exist with the integration with Fitbit  that all the data gets applied to the current day. It is not accounting for date it is actually from. For example if you had 2.5 Oz and a 10 Oz drink the night before but you didn't load to the Hidratespark app... the next day you started off with 5 Oz drink and open Hidratespark spark app... all correctly show on the right day in the Hidratespark app but when Fitbit updates the current day will show 17.5 Oz (two not synced from yesterday and the current day).

@Randquest Thanks for the reply and additional explanation.

I then assume you removed the Hidratespark from your Fitbit account and linked them up again. That is the first step to rule out any connection/syncing issue. In this case I recommend you load the amount to the Hidratespark app everyday to avoid this from happening. We shall see if other user experience the same situation. I will try to download the Hidratespark and replicate it. Thanks for letting us know.

I revoked Hidratespark access from Fitbit and turned off access to from within the Hidratespark app.   I reestablished link between the two applications. I then ran a test where I added 10 Oz manually in the Hidratespark app to yesterday.  I then in the Fitbit did a manual sync by swiping down.  The 10 oz came in and again was added to today's amount.  It is still ignoring or not factoring in the date.

Heads up... you will see another post about a secondary issue where none of the Hidratespark data is added to the weekly/daily history log that you see if you click on the water tile.  To get it to show, you have to click on each day and then it shows for that day.

I also made Hidratespark aware of this integration challenge and executed their recommended steps of logging out and clearing applications cache and logging back in.  I then repeated the test, which unfortunately there was no change and I was able to reproduce both issues.

It would be great if there was a way to make the Fitbit app team responsible for the integration aware so they can work together.  I am just not sure how to go about this.  As said before, for some reason the date is not being passed or is being ignored. The other thing is once synced, the data is not being processed correctly to the weekly/daily history log subroutines.

I received a communication from Hidratespark that there Engineering will be working on a fix for the next realse.  I assume they have to engage with the Fitbit team too.

I am also wondering if Fitbi will not have to be the one to resolve the issue of once synced, the data is not being processed correctly to the weekly/daily history log subroutines.  Basically it doesn't show up unless you click on a day and then only for that day.
