A while back, I had an unwanted Fitbit Labs tile that I could not X out of. After several app updates, it finally disappeared. Well as of today, 11/25/2025, it's returned! No way to X out. The new tile says "Plan for Care Research Study: check your symptoms and prepare for upcoming doctor visits" with a link to "get started." I do not want this, and I would like to remove it. There are many reasons why I don't want it, but none of them are any of Google's business.
I am seeking instructions on how to remove the tile now.
I am already opted out of Fitbit Labs, so I know that is not a fix. .

Go to the "Today" tab and tap the pencil. Scroll down to "Edit" and tap the "minus" sign. When finished, tap "Save".

That did not help, that only works with the standard tiles, not the bit giant ones that they push out with updates.
I accidentally marked "best answer" - this actually doesn't answer my question at all.

This is what I need to remove - the part that says "plan for care" - that is not something I want to see.

Then you need to send feedback in the app, because the instructions provided are the only ones I can find.

I have sent feedback in the app, I've discovered that does nothing.
The last time I posted about this type of issue on the Fitbit forum (within the last year), a member of Fitbit's development team responded regarding implementing a fix and gave the version number of the app where the fix would reflect along with a timeframe. I am looking for that type of response again.
I do appreciate you trying to answer for me!

I am not happy about this! It took months and waiting for an update to resolve the previous lab icon issues. Despite so many people complaining, Fitbit does this again. Why?

Unfortunately we don't know why, so your only option that I'm aware of is to either try the steps I already outlined or send feedback in the app.

I have the same thing. So frustrating. I was advised to logout of the Fitbit app, force close and reboot my phone, and make sure I had the latest update. I was given the version 4.47 I think, i might be a little wrong with the version number. Did all those things, have the correct version. Fitbit labs is still there and I cannot remove it. Fitbit please fix this.

Unless Google does not test any release for regressions the tile reappearing is not done by accident. For me on iOS the app is buggy and even contains eye piercing light screens while the rest of the app follows my devices dark mode. Nobody is actually testing this app that’s plain to see as it too me less than a minute to find several inconsistenties and bugs. Not sure if people with issues are using iOS or not but it seems the iOS app gets very little love. There also doesn’t seem to be a place to report bugs and get feedback on your reports. All we can do is send feedback in the app that will just go to /dev/null

On my Today page, I have a new pop-up from Fitbit Labs Plan For Care for a research study to check your symptoms and prepare for upcoming doctor visits! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This is the exact same issue we had many months ago with Fitbit Labs and there not being an X in the box so we can close this pop-up! Even if you say no thanks on the pop-up under “get started” your choice it says, but it still does not go away! I have tried every option afforded me, and unless there is an X in the box, there is no way for any of us to remove this new pop-up since the latest update a few days ago.

Hi, @ValFer, welcome. I think your post will be more at home on the app OS board. Can you please let us know the make, model & OS of your phone, and we can then move your post to the correct board. In the meantime, I would suggest you try syncing your Fitbit app, going to your phone settings, force stop>clear storage>uninstall> restart your phone>reinstall the Fitbit app & sign in with your Google account.
Please post here again so we can assist you further.
Cheers

I'm having this same problem. It's extremely annoying. I'm ready to switch to something else if this isn't fixed.

@Username675 I have moved your post to the Android App board because that is a better fit for this topic. I don't have any information about this issue, but you can continue to check here for updates.

Nope, I think I’m going to just keep my post exactly where was planted! Thank you for your suggestion, but honestly, you obviously don’t get the issue so you can’t even suggest a fix! Please, unless you are a Google Fitbit Internal Developer, you can’t help!
My post is about a software issue where all they have to do is place the usual X on this pop-up box so we can close it AND voila, case closed! So simple it’s ridiculous however; that’s what is required for a Samsung S21 to be able to close this pop-up. This exact same scenario, perfectly mimicked, has happened so many times since Google has taken over, another roll out introducing ANOTHER new Fitbit Labs Research advertisement with it, grabs the whole display under my preset goals circle on my Today page and there it remains. My Inspire 3 is a “chosen” unwilling participant for research and development.
