Fitbit Labs "sleep insights" banner - can it be dismissed?

Subject says it - this banner has been taking up 1/3 of my screen (both the dashboard and the sleep tab) for some time.  Nothing makes it go away - I tried clicking "Learn more" in the hopes that reading whatever they were trying to sell me would dismiss it, but no. I disabled sharing data for research (which I'd previously enabled)... no effect.

The fact that the sleep insights thing is closed - meaning even if I wanted to do it, I couldn't - is icing on the cake.

Is there any solution to this issue?  It's very annoying, especially given the app snafu around the food screens that just happened (this is the Android app on a Pixel phone, which had a problem).  It seems like Fitbit has just decided to keep on kicking customer satisfaction.

Hello @gawkahn

I agree that the current Sleep Insights banner/tile is annoying in that you can't dismiss it and it currently doesn't seem to be very helpful for now.

It could be that this is a "placeholder" for an upcoming feature, although I haven't seen any confirmation of this.

For now, you can submit Feedback in the Fitbit app. This will create a report that goes to the team for review.

  • Tap on your picture in the upper right of the Today page in the Fitbit app
  • Tap on Feedback from the drop down menu.
  • Complete the prompts and submit

Although you likely won't get a response, the team receives & reviews the feedback reports.

Good suggestion, thanks.  I hadn't noticed that feedback option.

Coincidentally, the banner disappeared yesterday, so that's nice too.

Hello @gawkahn

You're welcome. Please feel free to use the feedback option in the Fitbit app whenever you have an issue.

And, like you, the banner disappeared from both my Today & Sleep pages yesterday. I do suspect that this is a new feature we'll be seeing in the near future.

The banner may be from a persistent notification in the app. If you have turned off notifications, some information may still be visible in the interface.
