Fitbit Versa constantly losing connection with Android

I am about ready to return this VERSA even though the concept is great. I have had to disconnect, reconnect, get uninstall app, reinstall app, unpair, pair, etc., etc. I lost connection every 30 minutes today! Is there a fix or return for money back? I cannot see any results to FIX this problem. Can anyone provide a SOLUTION?

I am having the same problem. I have followed ALL directions, but I still have to re-install, once a week. It's very annoying! I have a Samsung Galaxy J7 which is not on the list, yet the J3 is...interesting. I have loved my fitbit devices up until this point. I am honestly thinking I should have just spent the extra $50 on the Galaxy watch. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!

I'm having the same problem with a Versa 2 and a Note 10 +. Have to turn the phone off and back on at least once a day in order to get it to work.

This really isn't good enough for a watch costing £200

I am having the same problem as others here with the Versa 2 constantly losing sync with the Android Mobile App on a Huawei P30 Lite. One thing I am noticing when the sync is lost that neither my iPhone, Android phone, or iMac can see the Versa 2 as an "Available Device" when bluetooth is searching. This kind of points a finger at the watch I would think?  I am wondering if others on this forum can definitively say "my Versa 2 never loses sync" so we can at least know that for some this isn't a problem? Perhaps, if some can confirm they never loose sync, this might be a specific manufacturing issue with a number of these watches??

Is the P30 Lite supported? When I spoke to Fitbit they said my issues were because the Note10+ isn't supported yet. I did point out that the N10+ is the flagship phone of the largest phone manufacturer but was just told to keep checking back to see when it became supported.

I've gone back to my Huawei GT

Martint235 .... thanks for taking the time to reply. Appreciated.

From what I can find on the Fitbit site > supported phones .... the P30 Lite is supported. I am running Android 9.1.0

However this triggered something ... so, I just turned off the P30 Lite and turned on my iPhone 6 running iOS 13.3 .... and voila, it bluetooth connected instantly, and synced automatically and instantly. Sooooooo .... maybe it is an issue with the P30 Lite? I do know that every once and a while the P30 Lite does sync but ... not on demand. I am going to try a few more things and see if I can define that it indeed might be the P30 Lite that is my particular problem. However, from my research on the internet, there are a TON of complaints about the Versa 2 and Bluetooth connection instability.

I just turned off the iPhone and turned on the P30 Lite and it synced. I then did the reverse with the iPhone but this time the bluetooth connection was instant but the sync stopped (or stalled) about 1/2 way through? I have seen some reports about issues with iOS 10.13. So ... I did the reverse again, P30 Lite Bluetooth did see the Versa 2 and it synced. Connected to Bluetooth no problem but the App stalled again during syncing. So now I am really confused as t what is going on?

For most of the day today I have NOT been able to get an bluetooth connection to the Versa 2 on the P30 Lite. It would not show in the Available Devices List and the app would not connect.. When I go the the bluetooth settings it rarely shows the Versa 2 in the AD list?? During this session, as I am writing the reply, it has connected to bluetooth quickly on the P30 Lite but ... I have been doing this all day and it wasn't connecting after repeated phone off/on's and also watch off/on's. So why it's working at this moment is a mystery? So far, after about 5 minutes or so the iPhone is still stalled on the V2 sync. I am thinking I may have miss read it the first time and it never did actually sync??? Back on with the P30 Lite and as it did earlier today no Versa 2 in the Bluetooth Available Devices list BUT the app is syncing ????? How is that possible???  Back to the iPhone and ... although the bluetooth says it is connected the app is stalled on "looking" trying to sync? so ... i disengaged the bluetooth (forget this device on the iPhone) and it instantly reconnected to the V2 and synced completely in about 2 seconds? Back to the P30 Lite again ...  no V2 in the Available devices list but it did sync?? All very confusing. We'll see how things go in the morning.

I have until Mar 2 to be able to return the Versa 2. If I can't get this bluetooth situation resolved, I am going to bite the bullet and buy an Apple Watch 5. I basically bought the V2 as it was literally less than half the price of the AW5. The Versa 2 is very nice to wear and I like the look of it, but if it is going to continue being hit and miss syncing, it's going back.

Sorry for the long post ...

I have Fitbit versa 2 and Samsung galaxy s10+. My devices will not stay connected either. Had my phone for six mos. and watch for.one week now. It seems to always lose connection in the morning and stays disconnected until magically it's connected again.  I keep Fitbit app open in background. I want it to stay synced because I use Alexa and when it loses sync it's irritating. Me Fitbit is paired with my phone and I do not pair it with any other device. I can see.pair the phone to multiple devices which some.do a auto sync could cause "lost connection" issues but I do not. With one exception, I do pair it with Alexa Auto and it will pair automatically which would cause a syncing issue. Only one bluetooth connection at a time is what I understand. I too have the latest app, set correct app settings and I am tired of fiddling with it. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

I am having the same problem with my Versa not staying connected to by Samsung Galaxy S9. I want to throw this thing out the window. If I spend half my day trying to get it to sync by restarting the fitbit, turning bluetooth off/on, force ending the app, restarting my phone, etc. then it may just sync once or twice in a day. I have gone through so many fitbit forums about how to get it to sync with no luck. I would LOVE some help before I chuck this thing out the window.

UPDATE …

After repeated syncing problems, especially to my android phone running 9.1, I started a chat with Fitbit Tech Support. After a few days from that chat session, things seems to be much better in the syncing department. There were two things we did during the chat I didn’t do in my trial and error period, and that might have been the fix? The results are below FYI.

To note … I was having relative syncing success with my iPhone 6S (iOS 13.3) but not with the Huawei P30 Lite (Android 9.1)

1) We turned off all the blue tooth devices nearby and I turned the iPhone off.

2) Android Bluetooth off

3) Versa 2 off then back on

4) Android Bluetooth back on

5) They had me “Force quit” the Fitbit App (one thing I never did before)

6) Then, in the FitBit App they asked me to go to Account>Versa 2> General>”Notifications”. None of the Notification settings were changed, I just went there, then went back out. What happed after this, was that in the Android Settings Bluetooth Menu, a new list heading showed up which was “Paired Devices”, and under that, I saw the “Versa 2”. I had never seen this before under the Bluetooth Settings. This was new. After that, things started syncing and so far it has not stopped. Things seem to be working now in the “Sync Department” and it has been consistent over the last few days. I guess the truth is that I had never properly paired the Versa 2 to the Android phone (but I thought I did in the set up procedure).

I asked the tech support agent “what made the pairing show up in the Bluetooth menu” and she said “when you go to “notifications, that’s what did it”?? That is a bit weird for me … never knew that?? The “Force Quit” was just a reset of the app but the trigger to my fix (as I understand it anyways) was to go into the Fitbit>General>Notifications area, then exit, and check your Android>Settings>Bluetooth menu to see if your Versa 2 shows in the list (mine is above the Available Devices heading). If so, your watch should be synced to the FiBit app. Try it by Force Syncing under the FitBit App> Account> Versa 2> Sync Now.

I guess the real wind up to this is that I didn’t actually have the watch properly paired to the Android? You need to see your Versa 2 as a “Paired Device” in the Android Bluetooth menu? I am still scratching my head over the “go to notifications thing” and in doing that, it produces a pairing to the device? … but that is what the tech agent told me. Note, there are two “notifications” options in the FitBit App. One is, Account> Privacy & Security> Notifications … and the other is Account> Versa 2> General> Notification and it is the SECOND ONE you need to go to.

All Day Sync is turned on. The Android is still a “bit flakey” syncing sometimes. For instance as I am writing this, it has been a bit reluctant to sync on 2 or 4 forces but … it does eventually catch up. A bit weird. As I said earlier, it syncs to the iPhone much better. This might be pointing a bit of a finger at the P30 Lite itself I am not sure?

Lastly, I would like to mention that the Chat Session with the FitBit tech agent was very pleasant and to the point. The outcome was obviously very positive in my case.

Hope this helps?

I have an iPhone 8+ and the same issue. 2 years after others had the same issue... why hasn’t it been fixed?? I have tried it all... I am sick of restarting my Fitbit and my phone. Checking to make sure all settings are correct, which they are!! Now what?
